Allergy Friendly Restaurant Guide: Scottsdale, AZ

Updated: May 20, 2023

Phoenix is currently the number one growing city in America, and Scottsdale is right next door. Visiting or live here, but don't know where to safely eat? Let me help you! My home and favorite city in Arizona, Scottsdale, surprisingly has a lot to offer when it comes to both allergy friendly and vegan food! I've included allergen guides where available, so you can see how each restaurant works for your allergens! So, take a look at some of my favorite places from sit-down dining to fast food to dessert while you're here in Scottsdale!

Dining

If you are looking for a restaurant that takes food allergies seriously Maggiano's is it! They were rated a top 10 allergy friendly restaurant chain by Allergy Eats and they are highly rated by Spokin too. The chef comes out to the table to make sure things will be made correctly. They were able to make everything my daughter wanted without dairy, even though on the menu it contained it. It was an amazing experience!

YC's

We absolutely love YC's! Not only is it a fun spot for the kids, its delicious! The entire restaurant is tree nut & dairy free (except for the frozen yogurt machine, which is easy to steel clear of). There's vegan options and gluten-free noodles as well (however they do sit next to the gluten containing ones).

Tocaya is great! They take time answering questions and have allergen menus upon request. Even though it is a vegan-friendly restaurant, they do have dairy there. They currently have very few tree nuts and no peanuts at all, and the food is great!

They are great taking into consideration allergies & dietary restrictions. The staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients. You can even download their app and get 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢 under “Nutritionals”. They do have nuts in the restaurants, but they had no problem changing gloves and preparing food in a separate area when asked.

At The Herb Box, they are extremely knowledgeable about allergens. The server double checked everything with us before the order came out. They do have many of our allergens in the restaurants, but they had no problem changing gloves when asked. They have a lot of great plant based options here as well!

If you want pizza that is allergy friendly, then look no further than Spinato's! They not only have the best pizza in town, but they have gluten-free and vegan options! Although they have our allergens here, they have been great with my daughter's dairy allergy, and we order all of the time.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar is a great option for a gourmet burger. They have a dairy-free frier and handle food allergies well if you let them know. If you're vegan, they have great fry, salad, and beer options!

Flower Child has always been great about providing info about the ingredients and allergen concerns. Although they have many allergens there, they are very knowledgable about what dishes contain them, and have no problem double checking.

At True Foods, they are extremely knowledgeable about the allergens on their menu. The server will literally bring the book over with every ingredient in every item that you request. Even though our allergens are there, they double check everything before the order comes out. In the past, when concerned about allergens outside the top 8, I've e-mailed them ahead of our visit and they were able to provide me detailed information about those allergens as well.

Green is a 100% vegan-vegetarian restaurant and they can handle a dairy or egg allergy very well because they don't have them there! However, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and seeds are in the restaurant and their allergen statement says that they cannot guarantee prevention of cross-contact with those allergens.

They have a great electronic menu that allows you to order special allergen friendly food. It will come out with a toothpick to show the allergy. The restaurant is nut free, and they have a dedicated gluten free fryer for french fries. It's a great, safe option!

Fast Food

There is NO dairy in the frier and the fried food should be free of dairy cross contamination.

Chipotle does not use, egg, mustard, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, shellfish, or any other fish ingredients in their foods. If you have an allergy and let them know, they will clean the line, change gloves, and get the food fresh from the back before it has the potential for something to have dropped in. They will switch all of the spoons to new clean ones, and they are trained to take allergens seriously!

Rubios is a great option for anyone with a peanut or tree nut allergy since they have NONE in their restaurant. They are willing to change gloves and handle other specific allergen requests too. They have a lot of great healthy & vegan-friendly options as well.

In-N-Out Burger

In-N-Out Burger is another great option for those with a peanut or tree nut allergy. They have NONE in the facility and cook their food in sunflower oil. They will change gloves & have a separate burner for dairy/wheat allergies upon request. There is NO dairy or gluten in the frier and the french fries are safe for a dairy allergy or celiacs.

Dessert

BEG Bakery & Creamery

BEG Bakery is Baking a Difference. Not only are all of the desserts here delicious, they are dairy, egg, and gluten free! The treats are also ALL plant based. They take extra precautions and have built a contaminate free baking area and send out products to a neutral third party lab to test. The kitchen for gluten free products is completely separate too.

Dupe Loops

You'll find this donut truck around The Old Town Scottsdale area. Drive up and get a fresh hot donut made every 28 seconds. Everything is nut free, soy free, dairy free and gluten free! These ingredients are not used in their food, truck or facility!

Sprinkles has vegan cupcakes and gluten free cupcakes available. If ordering for a custom order, they will prepare them separately, with new gloves, which would make cross contact issues unlikely. The vegan cupcakes are made with soy and coconut instead of dairy. However, they do bake with flour, dairy, sugar, peanuts, and walnuts on the premises, so Sprinkles is not recommended for those with severe allergies to these ingredients.

Bubble Bee is a boba restaurant in Arizona that makes every drink on the menu using 100% USDA Organic loose tea leaves. Their premium ingredients include organic coconut/soy/almond milks, and real fruit purees.

They were amazing taking into consideration our allergies & dietary restrictions, the manager was very knowledgeable about the ingredients, and even double checked everything with us. However, if cross contamination with dairy, soy or tree nuts is an issue they cannot guarantee no cross contact with those allergens.
