The Top 10 Easy Allergy Friendly Halloween Recipes for Kids

Updated: Nov 12, 2020

Halloween this year looks a bit different without trick-or-treating, but that doesn't mean we can't have just as much fun with the kids in the kitchen! It is 10 days before Halloween and here are 10 of my favorite easy allergy friendly recipes to get your family ready! Let the countdown begin!

FRANKENSTEIN AND MUMMY AVOCADO TOAST

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE - EXCEPT COCONUT; VEGAN)

Frankenstein Toast

Take 1/2 of an avocado and smash with fork onto your favorite gluten free bread. Cut seaweed nori with scissors for the hair and face. Use kalamata or black olives for the bolts and nose (use toothpick to hold in the bolts). Add candy eyes.

Mummy Toast

Take the other 1/2 of the avocado and smash with fork onto your favorite gluten free bread. Use dairy free cheese of your choice cut into strips with scissors. Add candy eyes.

STUFFED PEPPERS

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; TOP-9-FREE)

How to

  • Preheat the oven to 375F.

  • Take the seeds out of the peppers and cut tops off.

  • Cut the faces with a knife.

  • Microwave peppers for 10 minutes.

  • Cook rice.

  • In pan, cook onion over medium heat until starts to cook.

  • Then, mix in beef and cook until beef is brown.

  • In separate bowl combine cooked beef with onions, cooked rice, tomato sauce, garlic, onion & salt.

  • Mix well.

  • Stuff peppers with the mixture in a baking dish.

  • Add dairy free shredded cheese on top if desired.

  • Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes.

SPIDER WEB OVERNIGHT OATS

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; TOP-8-FREE; VEGAN)

Ingredients

How to

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and stir very well. Cover and leave it in the fridge overnight. Serve cold or warm. I used black icing for the web and eyes/legs and used a top 14 free Safely Delicious spider for the spider in the bowl and a Nature's Bakery brownie bar for the ones on the plate.

GUACAMOLE BATS

(DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; VEGAN)

Ingredients

  • 4 avocados

  • 1`lime

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 tsp cilantro

  • 1 tsp garlic powder or minced garlic

  • 1 pinch pepper

  • Blue corn tortilla chips

  • Candy eyes

How to

For my simple, allergy friendly guacamole, take 4 avocados and mash them. Add one lime, one teaspoon of salt, three tablespoons fresh cilantro, one teaspoon finely chopped garlic, and one pinch of pepper. Mix well. Then fill the empty avocado skins with the guacamole & pair with blue corn tortilla chips and candy eyes!

SPIDER WEB TACO SALAD

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; TOP-8-FREE)

For this salad I took arugula as the base, and then added a can of black olives, sweet onion, can of corn, tomatoes, dairy free cheese shreds, carnitas (any protein can be used), salsa, cilantro, and guacamole (check out my guacamole bats post for the recipe). For the tortilla, I used a knife to cut the design I wanted. I fried it in some oil over medium in the pan until it became hard and flipped it and did the same thing on the second side. I then used it on top of the salad.

PUMPKIN BREAD

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; TOP-9-FREE; VEGAN)

For this beautiful pumpkin bread I used a Nordicware tin and Trader Joe's gluten free pumpkin bread mix. I used water instead of milk and banana instead of egg.

PUMPKIN WAFFLES

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; TOP-14-FREE; VEGAN)

For these pumpkin waffles, I used Hungry Harry's top 14 free mix in my mini pumpkin waffle maker. I substituted my favorite alternative milk, and used banana instead of egg.

FRANKENSTEIN EDAMAME & PUMPKIN NIGIRI

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE - EXCEPT COCONUT; VEGAN)

Frankenstein Edamame

Ghost & Pumpkin Nigiri

  • White sushi rice

  • Sushi grade salmon for the pumpkins

  • Nori for the faces

  • Cucumber for the pumpkin stem

  • Ginger for plate

SPIDER WEB CREPES

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE; TOP-14-FREE; VEGAN)

For these crepes, I used a mix from Hungry Harry's. I added a little extra water, substituted my favorite alternative milk, and used applesauce instead of egg. Once the crepes were done, I set them aside to cool. Once cooled, I folded them and used an icing pen to draw on them. I added a little powdered sugar and a couple of spider rings!

BROWNIE BATS

(GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGG, SOY, PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE - EXCEPT COCONUT; TOP-9-FREE; VEGAN)

I used Safe + Fair brownie mix. I made the flax egg as directed on the bag, swapped my favorite alternative milk for regular milk, and used dairy free butter! Once the pan of brownies was done, I used a bat cookie cutter to cut them out and candy eyes to finish them off! They turned out fangtastic!
